Irate 27-year-old man hits teen girlfriend, breaks window

May 10, 2007, midnight
An 18-year-old woman from the 1600 block of Euclid reported she was at the Marathon gas station, 1600 Oak Park Avenue, with her brother’s 17-year-old male friend, when her 27-year-old boyfriend arrived.  The boyfriend asked her why she was out of the house.  He then punched her friend, shoved her to the ground and hit her.  The 17-year-old hid.  The 27-year-old man finally left, but not before punching and breaking a glass window in the gas station store.  Later, the offender turned himself in; he was charged with one count of battery and one of criminal damage to property.
