Berwyn Police Blotter

In trouble?  Just leave!

May 14, 2007, 4:46 AM
A resident who heard a crash called in a hit and run accident in the 7100 block of 34th St.  He told police he saw a man and woman walking away from a maroon 2006 Chevy Cavalier in the eastbound lane.  Arriving cops saw them, too.  They were Lisa Marie Sanchez, 23, and Jesse M. Vargas, 21, both of Cicero. Both were positively identified by the witness.  The pair told police they had been passengers in the car, driven by a man they knew only as “Brandon”, who fled the accident scene. They said his flight startled them, so they decided to flee also.  A check of Vargas’s name showed he had an expired driver’s license; Sanchez had a suspended license and no insurance for the car, which was registered to her.  The car was towed away, and the woman cited for having an uninsured vehicle.
