Berwyn Police Blotter

Honduran passport, expired license, insufficient to allow driving in Illinois

April 29, 2008, 9:22 AM
An accident in the 6800 block of Ogden involved a tan Ford 4-door and a Toyota pickup truck.  When one of the driver’s was asked by police for a driver’s license and insurance proof, he presented only a passport from Honduras.  Wilfredo Reyes, 29, who told police he had been living in Cicero for five years, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to yield while turning left, and driving without a license.

An officer in the 2700 block of Kenilworth saw a silver Dodge van backing northbound, into traffic, on Kenilworth—directly into the path of a car headed eastbound on 27th.  During the traffic stop, the driver handed over an Illinois driver’s license that expired more than two months earlier.  Tickets for the expired license and improper backing were issued to Eleanor F. Maxa, a resident of that block.
