Gun found after armed robbery behind restaurant
September 26, 2008, 8:36 PM
A Cicero man told police he was robbed by a gunman behind Seneca restaurant, 6544 Cermak; the victim had a bruised face and scratched arms. He said a man confronted him outside the back door of the restaurant and tried to get him to go somewhere with him, but the victim refused. At this, the victim said, the assailant pulled a gun from his waist. They struggled, and the gun struck the victim in the forehead. The victim was able to knock the gun to the ground, whereupon he picked it up and ran inside Seneca with it, just as the robber began calling out for assistance from unseen accomplices. Police recovered the gun, a black Steyr .40 caliber handgun. The victim said he can identify the offender, and described the armed robber as a male black, about 18, with short black hair and brown eyes, dressed in a red shirt and a black jacket.
