Berwyn Police Blotter

Geneva junkies

November 9, 2007, 2:01 PM
Four officers responded to a call reporting two men injecting drugs in a white Olds sedan at McDonald’s, 7135 Roosevelt.  A witness reported seeing the Olds passenger put a needle to his right arm and appear to shoot up.  Police spoke with driver Michael J. Curtin, 20, and 21-year-old passenger Kyle Schonback, both of Geneva.  As the men got out of the Olds, police could see an uncapped syringe on the floorboard.  Also in plain view were a metal “cooking pan” and cotton balls, items commonly used to liquefy heroin to prepare it for injection.  Curtin spontaneously stated he had a needle in his right front pocket.  Police recovered all the drug paraphernalia.  Both men told police they had just purchased two bags of heroin on the west side of Chicago, then pulled into the McDonald’s lot to shoot up.  Curtin and Schonback were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
