Berwyn Police Blotter
Garage tools, porn only get as far as trash can after break-in
June 15, 1:31 AM
A homeowner in the 2600 block of Cuyler reported someone inside his garage. Police met the victim in the alley, where they observed a man coming out from between the victim’s and a neighbor’s garage: Joseph J. Caliendo, 24, of the 2800 block of north Spaulding, Chicago. The service door of the victim’s garage had been kicked in. Shoe prints on that door matched the tread on Caliendo’s size 10.5 FUBU shoes. Caliendo was charged with criminal damage to property. During booking, Caliendo was reportedly uncooperative, aggressively trying to defeat a search, attempting to bite police and moving so violently as to break off the key to the handcuffs he was wearing. Because of this, he was also charged with aggravated assault.
A green trash container in the alley was filled with items removed from the garage; they were retrieved, documented and returned to the victim. The items included a yellow Craftsman toolbox; a Ryobi welder; hedge trimmers, a Skilsaw, a chain saw, an air drill and a car battery charger; and a selection of DVDS with the following titles: “Art of Butt”, “Just Off the Bus”, “New York Nymphomaniacs, Volumes 21 and 4”, and “Ass Pumpers”.
