Berwyn Police Blotter

Forgotten stash brings felony charge

April 29, 2007, 1:55 AM
A Buick Riviera with only one working headlamp was noticed driving westbound on 25th near Gunderson. The driver, 19-year-old Alfredo Sanchez of Cicero, told police he had no license.  In reality, his license was suspended.  He was arrested, and a custodial search turned up a clear plastic bag of white powder in his wallet, which tested positive for cocaine (5 grams).  After being read his rights, the man said he used to use cocaine and forgot it was there.  He was ticketed for the driving offenses and charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance.
