Berwyn Police Blotter

Forbidden turn, fake name

September 19, 2008, 5:59 PM
Despite the clearly posted NO RIGHT ON RED sign, a red Chevy Van turned right on red.  Police stopped the van at Cermak and Grove.  The driver said he was “David Ayala” but the name came back “no record on file”.  Police asked the man multiple times for his real name, but he insisted on “Ayala” and was arrested.  Fingerprints revealed him to be David A. Miller, 40, of the 4400 block of Blanchan, Brookfield. He had an expired driver’s license and was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of DuPage County.  Miller was charged with obstruction, driving unlicensed and uninsured, and disregarding the posted traffic sign.
