Berwyn Police Blotter

Flying 40-ouncer

July 3, 2008, 2:01 AM
An officer noticed a black Chevy Tahoe with expired temporary registration.  Just before stopping the SUV, however, the officer saw a large glass bottle fly out of the Tahoe, landing at Oak Park Ave. and Riverside Drive.  The bottle, when recovered, proved to be an open, still cold to the touch, 40-ounce bottle of Miller Golden Draft beer.  The SUV contained three underage men, from Berwyn, Joliet and Monee.  Driver Timothy Johnson, 18, of the 3400 block of Euclid, got a ticket for displaying expired registration.  Passenger Jose L. Guajardo, 19, of Joliet, told the officer he threw the bottle.  He was charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol and depositing injurious material on the roadway.
