Flooding problem not resolved by city prompts call to cops

August 10, 2008, 2:14 PM
A homeowner in the 6500 block of 33rd told police water in the city easement portion of his property had been leaking for two weeks, soaking his lawn and pouring over the gutter.  He said when he first noticed it, he went to Public Works to report it, and said someone in the office told him it would be checked out right away.  A week later, the man said, nothing had happened, so he went back to Public Works to ask why.  He was told that the person who was supposed to come out to his place was on vacation but would return the next week.  After two weeks of dissatisfaction, the homeowner decided to contact police.
