Berwyn Police Blotter

Fleeing man charged with pot possession

May 3, 2008, 4:10 PM
An officer saw two males standing at the opening of the Grove/Kenilworth alley at 21st, and asked the pair if everything was ok. One man fled on foot, heading east on 21st.  He was quickly found in a gangway in the 1900 block of Grove by another officer.  A check of his name revealed an active North Riverside arrest warrant.  The other man, an 18-year-old from the 1900 block of Oak Park, was cleared and released. Once in booking, the captured man was found to be wearing two pairs of pants at the same time.  From the interior pair of pants, police recovered 15 clear baggies of marijuana, totaling 10.7 grams.  Gerard A. Pierce, 17, of the 1300 block of Home, was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Because of the warrant, North Riverside was notified of his presence in the lockup .
