Felony charge in wife-beating

Police responded to a domestic battery call from the 6800 block of 16th were flagged down by a woman. The woman reported a 42-year-old female friend was bleeding from the face following a beating by the victim’s husband. Police checked the victim’s apartment; the husband was attempting to leave. He said he did not know where his wife was, and said there had been a dispute. The victim was at a nearby address. She had a swollen cheekbone and an open wound across the bridge of her nose that required five stitches to close. The 44-year-old man was charged with felony aggravated domestic battery.
