Berwyn Police Blotter

Duffle-toting dude suspected in DVD destruction

January 30, 2008, 2:03 PM
The director of Berwyn’s library, 2701 Harlem, told police the night janitors have been finding broken DVD cases in the men’s bathroom, and several DVDs are now missing from the collection.  A suspect in the case is a 38-year-old Broadview man, known to library staff because of the disturbance he caused when he first started showing up.  He is known to take multiple DVDs out of the media section on the second floor and take them down to the first floor, where he watches them on his DVD player.  A call to the Broadview library revealed the man also got in some unspecified trouble there; in addition, he is believed to be homeless and living out of a car.  He reportedly enters the library with two large duffle bags, which he totes around with him during his visits.  The investigation continues.
