Berwyn Police Blotter
Drunken man’s memory truncated in battery case
May 13, 2007, 6:02 AM
In the 1200 block of Euclid, a sleeping woman heard her husband knock at the bedroom door at 5 AM. She realized he was drunk and had been out all night, so she said he could not come in. The man then broke through the door and hit the wife in the head. She called police, who could see broken vessels in the eye that had been struck. They also saw the broken door and lock. The husband, noticeably drunk, told police he had come home from drinking all night, but she was the one who started the hitting. He said he does not remember the part about breaking the door. The husband was charged with one count of domestic battery.
