Berwyn Police Blotter

Driving with suspended licenses

April 26, 2008, 7:53 AM
A white Mercury Mountaineer was stopped after an officer saw it traveling, with no front plate, in the 6300 block of Cermak.  A check of the rear plate’s number came back “no record on file.” The SUV’s VIN number was registered to the driver, but with a different plate than the vehicle actually bore.  Driver Teresa Martinez, 52, of the 1600 block of Cuyler, told police she had no license.  In fact, fingerprints revealed her license had been suspended.  Martinez was charged with driving on a suspended license, no front plate, and improper use of registration.  The SUV was impounded.
