Berwyn Police Blotter

Death on the BNSF tracks

June 29, 2008, 4:34 PM
A woman was seen with her head down, slowly crossing the Burlington Northern train tracks at Oak Park Avenue.  She did not respond when the conductor sounded the train’s horn.  The engineer told police he heard the impact when the train struck the woman:  Linda L. Barkley, 57, of the 6700 block of Stanley.  Items recovered after the accident included a duffel bag, a walking cane and a rosary.
