Berwyn Police Blotter

Crime-free housing effort offends unsavory crew

September 12, 2008, 7:08 PM
A man told police he was showing a basement apartment, in the 6400 block of 16th St, to a group of men.  During the showing, the victim mentioned that his intention was to rent the flat to a family.  At this, the men grew belligerent, calling the victim “bitch”.  One man reached into his pants as if for a gun.  Following a verbal altercation, the group fled east on 16th.

The victim described two of the men.  The first, he said, was a male Hispanic in his early to mid-20s with black braided hair and a dark complexion, wearing tan Timberland boots and a tan Timberland-style jacket. The second was a male white in his early 20s, blond, in a white hoodie and dark blue and black jogging pants.
