Complaints catch up to wanted man

September 24, 2007, 3:17 PM
Callers complained of a disturbance involving a couple from the 1800 block of Gunderson, stating they were in an alley with a hamper full of dirty clothes.  Police, familiar with the couple from previous incidents*, found them at the laundromat in the 6200 block of Cermak.  The man, age 51, was wanted for several known signed complaints.  He was arrested.  The woman, age 41, told officers he was her ex and had arrived at her place to pick up his stuff.  She knew he was wanted, she said, but was unable to get away from him long enough to call cops.  She added that what callers termed a disturbance was merely the ex “raising his voice.” The man was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property.
