Berwyn Police Blotter

Carjacking story just spur-of-the-moment invention

May 10, 2008, 3:11 AM
A hit and run accident at 13th and Grove involved a Chevy Cavalier and a black Cadillac Deville.  The Cadillac was found unattended in the middle of 13th St. at Kenilworth, with its driver door open.  While police examined the Cadillac, the driver showed up.  Edgar J. Sierra, 21, of Blue Island, initially told police someone tried to carjack him and that caused the crash.  But later, Sierra changed his story, stating there had in fact been no carjack attempt; he just fled the scene out of fear.  He was charged with failure to give information after an accident.
