Berwyn Police Blotter

Beer theft

May 17, 2008, 2:15 PM
An officer at Cermak and Riverside Drive saw a man run out the front door of a gas station minimart, toting two 12-packs of Miller Lite and followed by a female clerk. The officer stopped the fleeing man by pulling squad car #114 into his path.  The man stopped, put down the beer and put his hands up, all without any verbal commands from the officer.  Thomas J. Kadlec, 29, of Elgin, was charged with retail theft.
