Berwyn Police Blotter
Ambulance hit by Ford carried man in cardiac arrest
May 3, 2008, 6:26 PM
The driver of Berwyn ambulance #905 told police he was headed south on Harlem with lights and sirens activated, going 20-30 MPH at Riverside Drive when an eastbound Ford sedan struck the ambulance. The ambulance driver, in an effort to avoid the car, veered off Harlem and onto a bus-stop bench. The Ford was later stopped by police. Driver Clinton Sceles, 18, of Brookfield, told police he did not see or hear the ambulance. He was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving without his license on his person. The ambulance was transporting a man in cardiac arrest when it was struck.
