Accident with injuries involves juvenile driver, aroma of marijuana

At 16th and East, a Chrysler minivan and a Jeep were in an accident. One driver, a 27-year-old man from the 1400 block of Gunderson, was taken to the hospital with a bleeding face and back pain. The other driver was a 16-year-old girl from the 2100 block of Kenilworth. A paramedic alerted police to a smell of marijuana in the girl’s car, but police could not find a substantial enough amount of pot to turn any in for evidence. The girl was charged with driving unlicensed and failure to yield when turning left.
