Driver blows stop, gives name of brother in place of real one
August 27, 2007, 9:02 PM
A police officer stopped a speeding silver Kia at Windsor and Oak Park because it blew through a posted stop. The driver stated he was lost and just trying to get to the expressway, and that he was not carrying a driver’s license. He gave his name as “Michael A. Rivera”. As there was no record of a license for that name, he was taken to the police station. There, he said he was really Anthony A. Rivera, age 38, of the 3100 block of north Christiana, Chicago. He told police he gave his brother’s name initially, thinking the brother’s license was good. (It was not, and there were warrants on the brother from the state of Michigan and Marion County, Illinois.) Anthony A. Rivera was charged with disobeying the stop, driving with a revoked license and obstruction.
