Bar tab not negotiable

March 15, 2009, 3:02 AM
A bouncer at Wings bar and grill, 6535 Cermak, flagged down a police officer to report detaining a man who refused to pay his tab.  According to the bouncer, the man had spent several hours drinking at the bar.  At the end of the night, the bartender gave him the bill, but the man handed over only $28, reportedly saying, “Take it and go f#@% yourself , that’s all I’m giving you.” He was accordingly detained by the bouncer.  Police arrested Hernan F. Maldonado, 32, of 1620 north Drake, Chicago.  A subsequent inventory of the arrestee’s belongings determined that, in fact, he had enough money in his wallet to have paid off the complete bar tab.  Maldonado was charged with theft of service.
-----
While in the lockup at the Berwyn police station, Maldonado reportedly urinated both inside and outside of his cell, leading to an additional citation for disorderly conduct, specifically “Damages, befouls or disturbs public property or the property of another person so as to create a hazardous, unhealthy or physically offensive condition”.

Woman charged with biting bouncer

March 15, 2009, 1:18 AM
Police were called after several people were told to leave Windsor Sports Bar, 6814 Windsor, but stuck around outside instead.  Two bouncers told cops they were escorting several women out of the bar after a fight.  The name of one woman, who was pregnant, came back through the LEADS criminal database with a “hit” for gang affiliation.  While police were still at the scene, a bouncer removed a man from the bar and told him to leave; when the man made as if to strike the bouncer, police intervened.  Jessie Cuesta, 23, of 1616 Ridgeland, was cited for disorderly conduct.

1:49 AM
Police were sent back to Windsor on reports the same women were back and fighting again.  Two women had apparently “jumped” and beaten a third woman.  When a bouncer got involved, another woman— the pregnant woman mentioned above --reportedly bit his arm, leaving toothmarks.  Claudia Cruz, 23, of 2002 west 21st Place, Chicago, was charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

The alleged “jumpers” were each charged with battery; they were Elizabeth Brant, 23, of 1302 58th Ct, Cicero, and Sulema C. Santoya, 23, of 4714 south Avers, Chciago.

Two more women were each charged with disorderly conduct:  Melody J. Nevarez, 21, of 4329 south Wood, Chicago, and Noemi Gutierrez, 22, of 4636 south Winchester, Chicago.
