Dangling man

February 22, 2008, 3:17 AM
A woman in the lobby of MacNeal Hospital, 3249 Oak Park, was horrified to see a homeless man’s genitalia hanging out of his pants. Worse, he then urinated on a lobby chair, as well as on the wall and, ultimately, the carpet.  The man was ordered to leave the premises, and did.  But when he returned, MacNeal personnel called police.  Adam Morenski, 26, homeless, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property, as well as criminal trespass.

“No speak English”

February 21, 2008, 4:35 PM
Police came to Circuit City in Cermak Plaza after a woman was caught applying for credit with a series of fake ID cards.  The woman filled out the application in the name “Karla Fernando Garcia”; the false Illinois state ID bore that name and the suspect’s photograph.  The 28-year-old woman’s real name was Araceli Porcayo, of the 4400 block of Maplewood, Chicago. Police were told a man came into the store with her and stayed beside her throughout the credit application process.  But when police asked Porcayo her companion’s name, she said “No speak English”.  Police then searched the man, finding inside his pants pocket a light-blue change purse with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger on it.  Inside the purse was a second fake Illinois state ID with Porcayo’s picture and a second false Social Security card.  Later, Porcayo made a statement to police that she purchased the false identification two weeks earlier in Chicago from a guy she met in a laundromat parking lot.  What a deal—only $80 for both, and he had them ready in just two hours! The man with Porcayo turned out to be 18-year-old Alvaro F. Rodriguez, same address.  The investigation continues.

February 21, 2008, 12:35 PM
An assistant dean at Morton West High School, acting on a tip about drug sales occurring at the school, found a 17-year-old boy carrying around one large and three small bags of marijuana, totaling 13 grams.  The kid knew what you’re supposed to say when you’re busted, though: he claimed it was for “personal use.” Hmm.  He was charged with possession.

“Juke party—no standing around!”

February 21, 2008, 12:03 PM
Several witness told police they saw people coming in and out of a house in the 1800 block of Lombard at a time when nobody should have been home.  Police got a key from the landlord and entered after their knocks went unanswered.  Officers found 12 people in the attic, surrounded by a very heavy marijuana smell.  The tenant’s son—who was supposed to be in school—told police he and other 11 partiers go to Morton West high school.  A copy of a flyer advertising the gathering was found on the attic floor; it had been distributed at Morton.  It read:

JUKE PARTY 9 AM - 3 PM
18** LOMBARD
Everybody $3
No bullsh*@, no fighting
No standing around

And what’s a “juke”, you ask?  Apparently, it’s a verb—here:
