Van locks broken

Graffiti was found in the 2700 block of Lombard, the 2100 block of Euclid, the 6700 block of 26th, the 1500 block of Clinton, and the 6800 block of Cermak.

A 2007 Subaru parked in the 2500 block of Scoville was found with a broken rear window.
Estranged husband tries to punish wife’s friend

A woman in the 2300 block of Ridgeland says her friend’s soon-to-be-ex husband scratched up her PT Cruiser because he’s mad she lets the estranged wife stay with her. She saw him damage the car, then flee when she yelled. The man lives in Westmont. Other damage included a cracked windshield and missing wheel caps.
Field trip money stolen from classroom

A Riverside woman who teaches at Piper School, 2435 Kenilworth, entered her classroom to find the window open, papers on the floor, the computer unplugged, and $50 meant for a field trip missing from the desk. The building was searched, but no intruder was found. The window was apparently left open all weekend.
Screaming woman frustrated over party ejection

A 23-year-old woman from the 1400 block of Kenilworth was found drunk and screaming in an intersection near 35th and Elmwood. She was uncooperative with police. Apparently, she had been asked to leave a party in the 3700 block of Elmwood but refused to leave, causing a disturbance. She was charged with disorderly conduct.

Speeder has no license, insurance

A woman from the 1200 block of Clinton was caught speeding 55 MPH in a 25 MPH zone at Cermak and Highland. She also had a suspended license and no insurance.
Knife still at large

An 18-year-old woman met police in the 1500 block of Grove, stating she and her mom were threatened by a woman waving a knife. The knife-wielding woman was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, but the knife was not recovered and the prisoner would not say where she had hidden it.
Man charged with battery after police see woman’s injuries

Police responding to a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of Kenilworth were met by the victim, a 37-year-old woman with obvious injuries to the side of her neck. She said she and her boyfriend had a verbal-only argument. Witnesses said the couple fight all the time but this time sounded especially violent. The victim was uncooperative and did not want her injuries photographed. The boyfriend, age 41, was found lying on his bed in the apartment. When he saw police, he asked them “how the f--- they got in.” He further stated, “F— that bitch, I didn’t touch her.” He smelled of alcohol and was very belligerent and uncooperative. He was arrested for domestic battery.

SUV hits car, flees

Witnesses to a hit and run in the 6600 block of Roosevelt flagged down police and pointed out a blue 1998 Kia with severe rear damage. Onlookers said a Chevy Trailblazer occupied by two males hit the Kia, then fled eastbound on Roosevelt. The plates on the Trailblazer came back to Marco Flores of Oak Park, who was advised of the collision by mail.
Jeep impounded for loud sound system

A loud white Jeep was impounded after police stopped it at 25th and Highland. The driver, a 22-year-old man from the 2500 block of Gunderson, received the $500 noise ordinance violation ticket.
Drinking on the corner

Police were alerted to suspicious persons at 26th and Ridgeland, where they found two men drinking Modelo beer. Asked who they were, they produced Mexican identification. They were Gonzalo Ortiz, 45, and Alberto Garcia, 24, both of Cicero. They were sent home with a relative after being ticketed for public intoxication.
