Bass-bumping Buick impounded

An officer in the 6300 block of Roosevelt heard loud, amplified music far from its source, a 2001 Buick LeSabre. Tickets for noise, no insurance and no license were issued to Sherman L. Horton, 33 of Chicago.
Clown laughter seems threatening

A woman from the 1400 block of Wesley reported she has been getting weird cell phone calls for weeks. The caller either hangs up right away, or plays a recording of “clown laughter”.
Loaded rifle with fake serial number found in street

An officer driving in the 3600 block of Elmwood spotted what looked like a rifle lying in the street next to a Ford sedan. When the officer looked more closely, the weapon appeared to be an assault-type rifle, loaded with two banana-clip style magazines. Police secured the area and a sergeant inspecting the weapon found it was not only loaded, but ready to fire—the safety was off. Police interviewed the Ford owner and other neighbors, but nobody had seen the weapon in the street. It was a Norinco MAK-90 Sporter; the clips held 7.62 x 39 MM bullets. A check of the weapon’s serial number showed “No Record on File”.

A man told police his daughter parked her Dodge sedan in the 2500 block of Highland at 9 PM. By 9:30, someone had broken out one of the car’s windows.
One alert, one unconscious, both make trouble

An officer sent to quell a bar disturbance in the 6500 block of Cermak found a very drunk 27-year-old man yelling at his even drunker girlfriend, who had passed out on a table. When asked to leave, the man refused, instead shouting obscenities at the owners and patrons of the bar. His 32-year-old girlfriend was so extremely intoxicated that paramedics were called to remove her from the bar and take her for treatment at MacNeal Hospital. The man was fingerprinted and charged with disorderly conduct.

A woman in the 3700 block of Harvey found a tiny newborn kitten, no more than a week old, by the side of her house. She told police a neighbor on that block feeds and shelters stray cats.
Endangering the kids

A young woman reported to police that cars were speeding through the 3700 block of East alley, bordering Freedom Park. She asked police to check on the situation because of the danger to the many children playing in that alley.
Another pitbull runs loose

Police captured a brown male pitbull running at large in the 6400 block of 28th Place. The dog had no tags but wore a black spiked collar.
Prints lifted in garage break-in

A garage in the 2800 block of Home had its service door forced and three windowpanes removed. The vehicle inside was unharmed. The victim told police neighbors on the block had a recent similar experience. Police took a number of fingerprints at the scene.
Hitting, threats get man charged with domestic battery

A 24-year-old Bolingbrook man argued about money with his baby’s mother—now his ex-girlfriend—then hit her in the head and threatened to kill her, according to the victim. The man denied all this to police. He was charged with one count of domestic battery.

Gang graffiti was found on the shed in Janura Park, 28th and East. It was photographed by police and removed.

A man in the 3100 block of Grove reported someone shot six yellow paintballs at his front windows.

Burglar takes sound system away

A 35-year-old man told police someone broke the rear passenger window of his 2002 Grand Am while it was parked in the 3600 block of Home. The burglar stole one Alpine in-dash CD radio, two foot-long speakers, an amplifier and a black flashlight.
Brookfield woman makes forbidden left

A Brookfield woman got a ticket after an officer saw her blue van make an illegal left turn. The van turned left onto Harlem from the lot behind Cermak Plaza at 23rd, where two signs were posted stating “NO LEFT TURN”. Elizabeth Peralta, 25, was also cited for driving without a license.
