Smokes go down toilet

Estranged spouses in the 1300 block of Euclid engaged in a verbal altercation which peaked when the husband not only grabbed the wife’s arms, but threw two packs of her cigarettes into the toilet. The 51-year-old man was arrested for domestic battery.

Gang “associate” kicked out of former girlfriend’s place on threat of arrest

A 17-year-old female from the 1800 block of Oak Park told police her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend hurt her, but she refused to sign a complaint. Police issued the woman a domestic violence packet.

Police returned to the apartment. This time, the young woman said, her aunt asked the ex-boyfriend to leave, but he refused. Police spoke to the man, a resident of the 4200 block of Harrison, Chicago, and told him he must not return or he will be arrested. The man told police he has previous arrests for delivery of narcotics, and is “associated” with a certain Chicago street gang, though he drew a distinction between that and being a member.

A man in the 3400 block of Cuyler flagged down an officer to report an argument he just had with his girlfriend. He said the woman hit him in the neck when she started pelting him with kitchen pots and pans.
I said DON’T TOUCH MY FOOD!

Police checked out a disturbance in an apartment in the 2100 block of Kenilworth. The caller, a 55-year-old man, told police his 36-year-old girlfriend had accused him of eating her food from the refrigerator, and an argument ensued. The man appeared uninjured at that point; the woman was not home, but police soon found her in the 6900 block of Cermak. The pair agreed to separate for the day to give them time to digest the matter.

About an hour later, police returned to the same apartment. This time, the man said, his girlfriend hit him over the head with a magazine rack. The woman was charged with domestic battery.

A random plate check in the 1200 block of Harlem …

...revealed a white Buick LeSabre with Ohio plates was stolen, so it was stopped at Harlem and Fillmore, with help from Oak Park and Forest Park police. There were three people inside: two men and a woman. The front passenger was 21-year-old Brian J. White, of the 6000 block of south Vernon, Chicago. It appeared he had taken the car from his baby’s mother in Ohio, following an act of domestic battery. White told police the car was his because he had paid for it. The woman (who was driving) and the other man were released. White was held pending an extradition warrant.

Woman with assault arrest history threatens harm to dad’s girlfriend, unborn baby

An pregnant 18-year-old woman told police she was threatened by the 30-year-old daughter of her 55-year-old boyfriend. She said the older woman cornered her, screamed and threatened to “pull the baby out of her stomach” and to burn the dad’s house down with the teen inside it. The angry Berwyn woman—a resident of the 1800 block of Kenilworth—had already been told to stay away from both dad and his girlfriend. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assault, and criminal trespass. Her most recent previous assault arrest was on July 30th, when she was accused of threatening a neighbor with a cane.

Screaming leads police to battery suspect

Police in the 1900 block of Wenonah heard loud screaming and found a 22-year-old Cicero woman crying hysterically. The woman said her 26-year-old boyfriend threw her to the ground. Her elbow was scraped, swollen and red, with broken skin. The boyfriend, a resident of the 1800 block of Wenonah, was charged with domestic battery.

Hitting, threats get man charged with domestic battery

A 24-year-old Bolingbrook man argued about money with his baby’s mother—now his ex-girlfriend—then hit her in the head and threatened to kill her, according to the victim. The man denied all this to police. He was charged with one count of domestic battery.

Frying pan used as weapon

A man in the 2100 block of Kenilworth called police after his 36-year-old girlfriend hit him in the head with a frying pan. She had been out all night, and the man suspected she had been using cocaine. Police observed no drugs in the apartment, but could see the girlfriend was highly stressed and talking uncontrollably. Paramedics took her to MacNeal Hospital for observation.

Domestic battery poor method of obtaining cleaner house

A woman in the 3400 block of Cuyler told police her 43-year-old boyfriend came home and argued with her about the state of the house. According to the woman, he then grabbed her, threw her to the floor and announced that “this was the day she was going to die”. He then fled the scene in a black and red Chevy pickup. The 36-year-old woman agreed to sign a domestic battery complaint when the offender is found.

Drunken man’s memory truncated in battery case

In the 1200 block of Euclid, a sleeping woman heard her husband knock at the bedroom door at 5 AM. She realized he was drunk and had been out all night, so she said he could not come in. The man then broke through the door and hit the wife in the head. She called police, who could see broken vessels in the eye that had been struck. They also saw the broken door and lock. The husband, noticeably drunk, told police he had come home from drinking all night, but she was the one who started the hitting. He said he does not remember the part about breaking the door. The husband was charged with one count of domestic battery.

Brother kicks brother in face, flees on tiny bicycle

A man who had been in a fight spoke with police and paramedics in a store at 26th and Ridgeland. The victim, a 24-year-old man living in the 2700 block of Oak Park Avenue, told police his 30-year-old brother had confronted him while riding a small bicycle. The older brother got off the bike, ran to the younger man, punched his head, pulled him to the ground and kicked him in the face with his boot. The younger man yelled for someone to call police, and the attacker fled westbound on the little bike. The 24-year-old signed a complaint of domestic battery. Ambulance 910 was on scene to photograph the man’s injuries and take him to the hospital, but he refused medical treatment.

Couple fights over internet usage

A couple living together in the 1300 block of Wisconsin got into an argument about internet usage. The man told police his girlfriend scratched his arm and nose, so he pushed her. She left, but according to him also she took his wallet and keys. The wallet contained $1,500 cash and various credit cards.

Police responded to a disturbance call in the 3500 block of Euclid, where a 20-year-old man said he had a physical altercation with his girlfriend and wanted her to leave for the night. The girlfriend told police she wanted to talk to the boyfriend. When he refused, she began kicking him to “get his attention”. She next sought attention by breaking his DVD player. Her efforts did not go unrewarded; the boyfriend went to their bedroom, grabbed her jewelry box and smashed it to the floor. The woman ultimately left for remainder of the night.

Man reacts violently to breakup

A 25-year-old Berwyn man unable to accept a breakup reportedly shoved his ex and threatened her both on the phone and in text messages. The breakup occurred a month ago, the 23-year-old woman told police; the harassment has been going on ever since. The woman told police he beat her several times when they were together. She called police because when she tried to return money she had borrowed from him, he snatched her car keys and cell phone, got into her car and called everyone on her phone contact list with death threats. After that, he threw both phone and keys in the street. The man was arrested at his workplace, a business on 26th St. in Berwyn. He was charged with telephone harassment, criminal trespass to a vehicle, and domestic battery.
