Loiterer had markers in pocket, active arrest warrants

September 22, 2008, 2:42 PM
Police stopped to chat with three young men, seen loitering on Cermak at Elmwood, southeast corner.  They identified themselves to police; a 19-year-old man from the 2200 block of Elmwood and a 19-year-old man from the 2200 block of s. 59th Ave, Cicero, were sent on their way.

The third man claimed to be “Richard Tinman”, of whom no record was found on file.  In his pocket police found two markers; “Tinman” then became, police said, argumentative and uncooperative. He was arrested, then admitted lying about his name.  He was actually Cody M. Flissar, 18, of Joliet, and was wanted by Cook County for domestic battery and violating an order of protection.

Man out on bond for assault and battery gets arrested for punching out a window

September 21, 2008, 5:09 AM
Dispatchers sent police to the 1900 block of Grove on reports of damage to property.  Police found a man in a red plaid shirt yelling and violently waving his arms about. When the man saw police approach, he turned and fled.  He was holding his arms to his chest and appeared to be bleeding.

An officer spoke to the victim, a woman who said the man was her ex-boyfriend. She said the man showed up intoxicated and enraged, then tried to enter her residence by punching the front window.  Meanwhile, police chased the offender, who jumped a series of back yard fences, leaving a trail of blood. He was hiding in a back yard on the same block, using foliage in a flower garden to conceal himself; he would not respond to commands.

Police arrested Jesse V. Chagoya, 39, currently a resident of the 3000 block of Wesley.  He was charged with criminal damage to property, and could not post bond because he was already out on bond for domestic battery and aggravated assault of a police officer*.

Accused batterer has woman terrified, but not cops

September 18, 2008, 2:21 AM
Police were sent to MacNeal hospital to speak with a battered woman.  The woman, a 34-year-old Elmhurst resident, said she and her boyfriend argued in front of the man’s home in the 2300 block of Gunderson, then the man punched her in the head several times and grabbed her neck.  The officer saw the victim had red scratches in her shoulders and neck, as well as dried blood on her hands and fingers.

The victim repeatedly insisted she did not want the boyfriend arrested, and expressed fear that he would find out the police knew of the incident.  The officer informed her that, because of her visible injuries, he was signing the complaint for her.  At that point, the victim would no longer cooperate.

Police arrested the man at his home.  When they arrived, the man stated, “You don’t have a signed complaint and I don’t want to talk to you without a lawyer”.  He was, of course, mistaken about the complaint.  He was charged with domestic battery.

Felony battery charge for attack on paramedic

August 16, 2008, 1:12 AM
Police found 53-year-old Adrienne M. Murphy, of the 7100 block of Windsor, lying on the ground screaming in the 7100 block of Stanley.  She appeared highly intoxicated.  When asked whether she was ok, Murphy reportedly answered, “NO! Go f--- yourself, you m-----f-----!” Police asked Murphy if she knew where she was; she said, “No, they kicked me out.” From where?  “F-- you, I don’t know.” She then made statements about suicide.

Police spoke with her ex-boyfriend, who said they were drinking together until the woman, in his words, “flipped out.” When he told her to leave, he said, she picked up a knife, inspiring him to call police.

In the ambulance on the way to MacNeal hospital, Murphy took a swing at a paramedic, tried to kick him in the groin, and succeeded in kicking him in the chest.  Police, paramedics and emergency room staff were all needed to secure her to a hospital bed because she continued to kick, punch and bite.  Murphy was charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor aggravated assault.
