Intoxicated, belligerent group disses neighbors, cop

October 26, 2008, 4 AM
An officer in the 1200 block of Scoville encountered three women and a man yelling in the middle of the street.  One woman told police she saw the others standing outside a vehicle parked on the block, yelling and playing loud music.  When the victim asked them to turn down the volume, the group—all drunk—started to yell and swear at her, and continued to scream insults in front of the officer.  The man, Jacob M. Robinson, 31, of 1232 Scoville, was uncooperative and disorderly, according to the report.  His sister Jennifer A. Robinson, 29, of the same address, reportedly told the officer, “You’re a fat f*@%ing Berwyn pig!”.  The man’s girlfriend, an Oak Lawn woman, was also irate and uncooperative.  When the officer told the three it was time to get off the street and go home, the group refused and continued to yell.  Jacob Robinson walked away when the officer first attempted to arrest him; his sister then tried to block the officer’s access to him.  Backup units arrived and both Robinsons were arrested.  Throughout the ride to the police station, the report said, Jacob yelled, swore and banged his head against the glass cage in the squad car.
Jacob Robinson was charged with mob action.  Jennifer Robinson was charged with obstructing an officer.

Large, obvious warning signs go to waste

September 7, 2008, 6:23 PM
Police operating a seat belt enforcement zone in the 2200 block of Lombard rounded up a number of drivers with suspended licenses, starting with Brookfield resident Reymundo Peralta, 19, who also wore no seat belt and got his Cadillac sedan impounded.
6:38 PM
A Chevy Cavalier was stopped in the zone because two kids were unsecured inside.  It was impounded because of the suspended license of driver Eliseo Soria, 34, of the 4800 block of south Wolcott, Chicago; Soria was also cited for driving uninsured and failure to secure the children properly.
7:10 PM
Large, easily visible signs advising of the safety checkpoint were erected 500 feet west of Lombard, so it was no secret.  Nevertheless, cars containing people not wearing their seat belts continued to approach police.  A silver Buick had a non-belted front seat passenger and was stopped by police.  Instead of showing a license, the driver identified himself with an Illinois state ID.  Edgar M. Guadarrama, 20, of the 2400 block of 62st Ct, Cicero, had a suspended license, so he was cited for both offenses and the Buick was impounded.

Gang selects Berwyn bar for party; disturbances, after-hours drinking, ensue

September 7, 2008, 3:35 PM
An officer looking for graffiti behind Fonzie’s bar, 3243 Harlem, noticed seven vehicles in the lot. Because of three calls* to the same area earlier --all involving active members of a street gang who openly stated they were having a party at Fonzie’s—he called for backup.  Two officers entered the bar.  Manager Jamie Nieves, 28, of Cicero, said the only people drinking in the bar were employees.  Police saw six people at tables with open, very cold, beers before them.  Nieves agreed with the officers that it was 3:30 AM, and that he should have stopped serving at 3 AM.  Nieves received a ticket for serving alcohol after hours—a ticket he refused to sign.

*
The three earlier incidents were as follows:
2:08 AM: police made a street stop of two people who said they had been at a party at Fonzie’s.  Name checks revealed them to be active gang members; they were ultimately sent on their way.
2:22 AM
A disturbance call, reporting men yelling and fighting in front of Pierre’s banquet hall—3237 Harlem—brought officers back.  Name checks of every man involved in this fight showed they, too, were active members of the same gang.  One 20-year-old man even had a gang slogan ("ALMIGHTY A^%%@$#") tattooed across his eyebrows.
2:29 AM
A traffic stop of a vehicle pulling away from Fonzie’s; all occupants were active, admitted members of the above gang.
