In which someone disturbs the peace by making way too much noise in violation of Berwyn's local noise ordinance. The basic fine is $500 dollars.

Noise-violation impounds of the day
October 2, 2008, 12:48 PM
Police stopped a blue Olds Delta 88 for excessive noise in the 6500 block of Cermak. It was impounded, pending payment of the $500 fine. The ticket went to driver Andrew L. Cunningham, 21, of 4849 west Adams, Chicago.
4:08 PM
At 19th and Harvey, an Impala was stopped and impounded for noise. Driver Jose Nunez, 22, of Cicero, got tickets for noise and driving unlicensed and uninsured; police also discovered he had an active arrest warrant out of Lombard.

Too much noise got a white Yukon pulled over at Oak Park and Ogden, then impounded. Driver Gabriel A. Castellano, 23, of 1931 Elmwood, received the noise ticket, as well as one for driving on a suspended license.
8:08 PM
A blue Tahoe stopped for noise at East and Cermak earned a $500 ticket for driver Eduardo Ortiz, 20, of 1815 south Central, Cicero. The truck was impounded.
9:49 PM
At Harlem and Ogden, police stopped and impounded a red Envoy for violating the noise ordinance. The ticket was issued to driver Ivan Guzman, 26, of Hanover park.

Buick stopped for noise

A red Buick LaCrosse was stopped at 38th and Ridgeland for violating the noise ordinance. It was impounded. The $500 ticket went to driver Billy Flores, 24, of the 4900 block of south LaPorte, Chicago.

An officer heard a very loud Mercury Mystique at 15th and Ridgeland. He pulled the car over at 14th and Clarence and issued a $500 noise-violation ticket to driver Juan J. Sandoval, 30, of Cicero. The car was impounded.

A Pontiac was impounded for noise after being stopped in the 3200 block of Oak Park. Driver Pedro Urbina, 31, of Cicero, got the noise ticket.

Cicero men’s vehicles towed for Berwyn noise offenses

Police impounded a noisy Jeep, audible more than 100 feet away, at Oak Park and Vacin. Driver Jorge L. Quezada, 21, of Cicero got a $500 noise ticket. He was also driving without insurance and on a suspended license, and received additional tickets for those offenses.

A black Trailblazer was stopped for noise at Vacin and Clarence, then impounded. Driver Javier Salgado, 22, of Cicero, received the noise ticket. In the 6500 block of 24th St., a Camry was towed for noise; the citation was issued to driver Oracio Bustamante, 27, of Cicero.

Quiet, for now

Police stopped a white Monte Carlo in the 6200 block of Ogden because the car violated Berwyn’s noise ordinance by playing its stereo so loudly it could be heard 200 feet away. The car was impounded; driver Jason Christopher Lewis, 22, of the 100 block of south Mayfield, Chicago, received the $500 ticket.

A loud black Cobalt was impounded after a noise stop at Ridgeland and Cermak. The ticket went to driver Matthew Ocampo, 21, of Chicago.

In the 6400 block of Cermak, police stopped a noisy Impala and impounded it. Driver Mario Guevara, 19, of Cicero was cited for noise, and also driving sans license or insurance.

At Highland and 21st, an excessively loud Caprice was stopped and towed away. The noise ticket went to driver Garry K. Studivant, 24, of Oak Park.

Impounded for noise: a Pontiac Grand Am, stopped at 13th and Grove. Ticketed for the offense: driver Moises Solis, 22, of Cicero.

Neighborhood complaints of noise brought police to Mariscos Acapulco, 6326 Cermak. Officers agreed it could, indeed, be heard more than 75 feet away. The noise citation was issued to owner Margarito Rodriguez, 41, of the 2200 block of Maplewood, Chicago.

A blue Jeep was stopped in the 1800 block of Elmwood for violating the noise ordinance. It was impounded; the $500 ticket went to driver Luis S. Garcia, 42, of the 2300 block of Clarence.

At Lombard and Cermak, police curbed a silver Monte Carlo for excessive noise. Driver Irwin W. Shaw, 28, of the 6900 block of Roosevelt, Oak Park, refused to sign the $500 citation, and the Chevy was impounded.

A too-loud Chevy Avalanche was stopped in the 2100 block of Highland. Driver Sergio Benavides, 25, of Cicero, was charged with the violation and the truck was impounded.
8:40 PM
From the 2100 block of Oak Park to the 1800 block of Kenilworth, police could hear the stereo of a black Honda two-door. It was impounded, and the noise ticket went to driver William M. Wright, 24, of the 1800 block of Kenilworth.

Police stopped a red Buick at Cermak and Grove because the car could be hear 200 feet away. Driver Michael A. DeJesus, 34, of the 5500 block of south 24th, Chicago, was cited for noise and driving unlicensed; the car was impounded.

A black Buick sedan, heard more than 150 feet away, was stopped in the 2300 block of Home. Driver Brandon Bartolomew, 18, of the 3600 block of Ridgeland, received the $500 noise ticket, and the car was impounded.

An officer could hear the stereo of a grey Olds sedan from a full block away, before stopping the car at 26th and Grove. Driver Michael N. Negrete, 22, of the 2200 block of Clinton, was charged with violating the noise ordinance, and the Olds was impounded.

A black Chrysler 300 was stopped at 16th and Gunderson for excessive noise. It was impounded, and driver Javier Martinez, 26, of the 1800 block of Scoville, received the $500 ticket.

An officer who stopped a blue Scion at Ridgeland and Ogden asked the driver if he knew why he had been pulled over. The driver replied, “I know, my radio was too loud.” The car was impounded. John R. Balzarin, 22, of the 6200 block of west Montrose, Chicago, was cited for noise and driving with expired plates.

Police stopped a loud blue Buick in the 6600 block of 13th. It was impounded, and the noise ticket was issued to driver Gerald C. Gordon, 34, of Maywood.

An officer heard a loud green Cadillac CTS at Roosevelt and Oak Park; the car turned south onto East and was stopped in the 1300 block. Driver Mauriel K. Campbell, 34, of Elmhurst, received the noise citation, and the Caddy was impounded.

A Pontiac was impounded after a noise stop in the 6200 block of Cermak. The ticket went to driver Kelvin A. Miles, 23, of Hillside.

Alias revealed in noise stop

Police in the 6300 block of Cermak stopped a white Pontiac Grand Am for violating the noise ordinance. The driver told the officer he was “Alonso Carillo”, 27, of Mount Prospect, and said he had no license. After the arrest, the man’s fingerprints revealed that he has been arrested under the name Juan Carillo. He was charged with driving unlicensed (as Alonso) and driving on a suspended license (as Juan), in addition to the $500 noise ticket. The Pontiac was impounded.

Noisy Scion towed

In the 2500 block of Grove, police stopped a red Scion for violating Berwyn’s noise ordinance. The vehicle was impounded; driver Enrique Galvez was cited for excessive noise and for driving without his license on him.

Noise-ordinance violators impounded, assessed $500 fines

Not even 7 AM and an Olds 2-door was blasting its stereo in a 250-foot-plus radius as it traveled in the 6500 block of Cermak. Police impounded the car. Driver Tyrone M. Williams, 23, of the 2000 block of west Adams, Chicago, received the noise ticket.

A Nissan Sentra was stopped at Cermak and Riverside Drive for violating the noise ordinance. Driver Leonardo Rodriguez, 21, of Cincinatti, OH, received tickets for noise and driving with expired Illinois plates. The car was impounded.

Grey hairs no guarantor of wisdom

A Mercury Marquis police could hear over 200 feet away was stopped in the 6400 block of Cermak. Driver Carlos Javier Cortez, 22, of the 1900 block of Austin, Cicero, received the $500 ticket and the car was impounded.

Police stopped a Chevy 4-door in the 6200 block of Cermak because the thing was so loud it could be heard more than 300 feet away. Isn’t that, like, a football field? Driver John P. Slaughter, 49, of the 1600 block of Wenonah—described by police as grey-haired—was cited for the noise violation and issued a $500 ticket. The Chevy was impounded. Police discovered the entire back seat of the car had been removed in order to accommodate the very large amp and speakers that created the din.

Because the Chevy Tahoe he drove was audible more than 250 feet away, Joel Vera, 22, of Cicero, got pulled over in the 7000 block of Cermak. He also got a $500 noise ticket and the SUV got towed away until that’s paid.

Westbound on 16th, a green Mercury was so loud that police stopped it in the 6800 block. Driver Miguel A. Miranda, 21, of the 1800 block of Ridgeland, was also driving without a license. He was cited for both offenses and the car was impounded.

Police stopped a blue 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood for violating the noise ordinance. The $500 ticket went to driver Vincent Pedraza, 24, of the 1800 block of Oak Park; the car was impounded.

Neighbors signs complaint against restaurant for noise

Police responding to a call about noise from Salerno’s, 3300 block of Grove, did not hear excessive volume. They met with the complainant, who said the bass was audible in his bedroom. An officer stood in his bedroom and still heard nothing. The complainant said the volume was turned down before police arrived; he signed a noise complaint against the restaurant.
